Hosted Designers
If you would like become a Hosted Designer, you may read about it first by downloading this Guide for Hosted Designers.
So what is a Hosted Designer?
Becoming a hosted designer is a way to gain exposure of your models to the entire audience of PaperCraft Museum. It is especially beneficial for people who don’t want to or don’t know how to create a web page to showcase their own models.
How do I sign up?
To become a hosted designer, create an account in the forum and contact me through the contact form. I will then promote your account to a limited-access administrator.
What do I have to do as a hosted designer?
After designing a new model that you would like to release, you’ll make a model update by simply filling out a form. You can also make blog updates to tell your visitors about your next model’s progress.
What are the benefits of becoming a hosted designer?
You will have your own blog-like page that features your latest models and updates, including a Museum and Gallery display of your models. You will have an opportunity to write a short “about me” page to tell visitors more about yourself. If you have a PayPal account, we can setup a Donations button that will be placed in your blog page for your biggest fans to show their appreciation.
Are there any downsides of becoming a hosted designer?
You do not have to maintain a quota or rate of producing models or anything like that, just as long as we know you’re alive and doing something like a text update or two per week, we’re good. Do make sure the models you’re updating are indeed created by you.. of course you’ll never think of copying someone else’s work anyways, right? We just don’t want to be forced to remove anyone’s privileges.
What if I am a designer and already have my own webpage?
If you have your own models on your own webpage, it is likely that your models are already in the museum. You can still sign up to make yourself a banner. We’ll transfer all the models you’ve made that’s in the museum and put them under your banner so you don’t have to enter them yourself. If your models are not in the museum and would like them to be, just let us know here.
